SDL Trados Studio plugin

Introducing LXLIFF
Smart Editor’s new XLIFF format offers improved functionality when working with SDL Trados Studio Packages.

Segment status tracking: See whether a segment is completed or still in draft.

Character limits: View and respect character restrictions per segment with ease.

Baseline information: Check the translation origin—human, MT, or TM—and the match percentage.

WYSIWYG formatting: Preview bold, italic, underline, superscript, and subscript formatting.
*Note: Importing segment statuses into Smart Editor is not currently supported. All segments will display as “Approved” by default. However, the original statuses remain intact in the LXLIF file and are visible in SDL Trados Studio. Full two-way status synchronisation will be introduced in a future update.

Download the plugin
Get the installer file - Click the download link provided to get the .sdlplugin file for SDL Trados Studio.

Run the installer
Launch the installation wizard - Double-click the .sdlplugin file and follow the SDL Plugin Installer prompts to start the setup process.

Accept terms
Agree to the license - Carefully review the SDL AppStore End User Terms and Conditions and click Next to proceed.

Select version & location
Choose your Trados version - Select which version of SDL Trados Studio you want to install the plugin for, and confirm the installation folder.
