August 2020 COVID-19 update from LanguageWire

I would like to thank you for your valuable support over the past four months. Without it, LanguageWire would now be in a very different position.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create a challenging business environment for us all. We would like to share the latest COVID-19 video update from LanguageWire hosted by COO Stig Jørgensen and myself, Director Vendor Management, Frederik Wagner.

Over the past few months, our business has been severely impacted by delayed and cancelled projects. Looking ahead, the global business environment is still under immense pressure with expected GDP drops in leading economies at previously unseen levels.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to cancel the COVID-19 discount on 1 September as planned.

However, as of 1 September, we will exclude jobs with the job type Post-editing of Machine Translation and Translation 2.0 from the COVID-19 initiative.

This means that the 10% discount will not be applied to these jobs.

We are experiencing strong demand for and a shift in the market towards these two job types because of the speed and competitive pricing they offer. We know that these more effective job types leave you with spare capacity – which we are currently unable to fill due to lower volumes as a result of the COVID-19 impact – and we have therefore decided to exclude these two job types from the COVID-19 initiative.

For the remaining job types, the COVID-19 initiative will be extended until the end of 2020.

I can assure you that this was not an easy decision to make. Your support is an essential part of LanguageWire, and collaboration with you is and remains a top priority. We hope we can count on your continued understanding and support during these unprecedented times.
