The COVID-19 pandemic has created an extraordinary situation for us all. Accordingly, we are closely monitoring market developments and using a broad range of tools to support LanguageWire’s stakeholders; including customers, employees, and freelancers such as yourself.

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a rapid change in business behaviour from our customers. Fortunately, LanguageWire’s business model is not as dramatically affected as others and we are a business which is well prepared for remote work.

However, decision making is slowing down, large projects are delayed, and some customers are communicating a desire to cut spending by up to 50% for 2020. We are expecting a significant drop in demand, and we have to take prudent actions now to ensure we have a sustainable model which is in the best possible position to move forward when business confidence returns. One action we have already taken as a company in alignment with employees is a 10% salary reduction.

Unfortunately, this action cannot stand alone. We need your understanding and contribution to implement further adjustments to support our customers and the continuation of our business.

The additional adjustment we need to make is a 10% payment reduction on all projects you accept from 27 April 2020 until 31 August 2020. All jobs accepted prior to 27 April will not be subject to the 10% reduction.

Let me emphasise that this is not an easy decision. You are an essential part of LanguageWire, and your collaboration is and will remain the core of our business. We will continue to take prudent measures throughout the organisation to ensure that we have a healthy business for the benefit of our long-term collaboration.

How does this work?


Please note that the invitation to jobs will be at your regular existing rate. We will deduct 10% on the voucher at the time of issue.

Before accepting your first job during the reduction period, you will be presented with a pop-up asking you to confirm your knowledge of the 10% payment reduction on vouchers. This notification will appear once.


Work specs sent out will show the final Work Spec amount. The discount can be seen in the pricing break down.


POs sent out will show the discounted rate. The discount can be seen in the price summary.


  • Q: What is the reason for reducing payment by 10%?
    • A: We believe this initiative together with other savings initiatives are necessary for getting through the Corona crisis and ensure that we have a healthy business for the benefit of our long-term collaboration.
  • Q: When is the reduced payment effective from?
    • A: From 27th April 2020. We need to implement this relatively fast as we will be highly impacted the next months as a company.
  • Q: For how long will the payment be reduced?
    • A: This will be in effect until end of August 2020.
  • Q: What other actions are you taking as a company to ensure the business health?
    • A: We have taken a number of actions to reduce our costs and investments. One action we have already taken as a company in alignment with our employees, is a common 10% salary reduction for everyone - board, management and employees.
  • Q: Are other competitors taking similar actions?
    • A: Yes. We are seeing similar actions from our other competitors.
  • Q: Will the reduction apply to all?
    • A: Yes. The reduction has been implemented throughout the entire company including LanguageWire employees and all partners.
  • Q: Have you involved any partners before taking this action?
    • A: Yes. Prior to this we have talked with several partners and agencies to understand their feedback. 
  • Q: Will you pass on the savings to the customers?
    • A: Right now, we are experiencing a huge push back from customers on rates as they are looking to optimize costs.
  • Q: How do I accept jobs?
    • A: The procedure for accepting jobs has not changed.
  • Q:  Which job types does this apply to?
    • A: It will apply to all job types.
  • Q: What is the process?
    •  A: It depends on the platform.

      Before accepting the first job you will be presented with a pop up asking you to confirm that jobs will be subject to a 10% discount on voucher level. This will be a one off. You will receive an invite with your usual rates. Once you have completed the job, the discounted rate will be paid on your voucher.
